Our Story - North Triam Tech Inc.

Straight from our CIO

Our Story so far…

There is no better way to know the history of North Triam Tech but through the words of the man who penned the brand name himself.

Here is a tete-a-tete with Mr. John Paul Tumaliuan; a Co-Founder and the Chief Operations Officer of NTT.

NTT: So how did we actually start, sir?

Japee: I remember it was 2019 when it all started, theoretically. Me and two of my friends, Rendy Miguel (CLO and CFO) and Jap Sia (CEO), went out to eat pansit (a well known delicacy in our province) for lunch. While waiting for our orders at the panciteria (this is how we call restaurants that serve the said delicacy), they shared their ideas of developing an application, or at that time we call software development, that manages vendors’ and supplier’s retail transactions.

The pitch was great, all the plans and functions involved are doable. We planned a strategy for the development and deviced roadmaps on how to move forward. With a development pitch, all we need now is a solid team, and then there was us.

NTT: You mean the three of you started NTT?

NTT Team

Japee: Yes, the three of us. We became the team itself. We have Jap who runs multiple businesses. He have all the means and experiences to spearhead a company. Not to mention, he is an expert in business management. Then there is Rendy, who is a lawyer. He became responsible for handling everything legal; Paperworks, permits, contracts. He also became our first corporate secretary.

Then there was me. The first IT personnel of the group. I was a fresh graduate at that time and am the one responsible with programming and development stuff. Yes I was a fresh graduate but hey, it works!

So, as Jap says it, we have a good formula. Jokingly, we have a hustler, a hipster, and a hacker, well if the hacker means the tech guy stuff, then yeah. LOL.

NTT: How did we get the name North Triam Tech?

Japee: For the company’s name. We tried to think of a word that coincides with the number three. Since it was the three of us who started it. Right?

We had a long list of words; Triangle? Three? Triple? Triplets? Trio? Tricycle? LOL. I don’t know. None made sense, nor made a significant impact name-wise.

Then, the movie geek in me, hit me. Do you know the movie Wrath of the Titans? When Zeus and Hades battled Kronos during the movie’s climax, they needed to create a weapon to defeat the Titan. Using the weapons of the three major Gods; Zues’ Lightning Bolt, Hades’ Bident, and Poseidon’s Trident (who died in the movie, spoiler alert. LOL.), they combined them to create this powerful weapon. Do you know its name? It’s called “The Spear of Triam”.

That’s where Triam came from. And like the movie, where Triam was used to get rid of an old God, our version of Triam will innovate the “old” and traditional strategies and frameworks that businesses and MSMEs follow through technological advancements. Nice play on metaphors, right?

And since we come from Northern Philippines, then we have to include it in the name, hence North Triam Tech.

NTT: That’s an awesome backstory!

Japee: Yes! And Jap has made it clear that this company is “new school”. It will not follow the norm of traditional businesses. It will model its workflow and processes to the likes of Google and Facebook that focuses on employee welfare. And will offer affordable solutions to businesses that want to transform and take advantage of the booming information age.

NTT: From there, what happened next?

Japee: It started out as a partnership between the three of us. We later decided to strengthen our team by inviting our friends with more experience in the IT industry. We invited Angelo Buslig, now our CTO, and Michael Bayona, now our CIO. Now with 5 of us in the team, we decided to register the company as a corporation, with us as the incorporators. We received SEC approval in October 2020 and immediately started with development projects.

Until this day, we continue operations, and we continue strong. We now have a team of 12, expanding our productions to different departments. We now have a dedicated development team with Kantaru Diego on the helm as Project Manager, Mark Tabbu as the Lead developer and John Yamson as the UI/UX Expert. We also have a QA and After Sales team with Charles Bassig as the lead QA specialist and Kules Adducul as a junior QA specialist.

NTT: Thank you for your time sir Japee! This will be featured on our website!

Japee: No worries!

Meet the Team
